HEMS EMS AGENCY'SSPECIAL NOTICE REGION 2 PROPERTY AUDIT As part of our cooperative agreement, every two years the regional healthcare coalitions are required to conduct site visits for every participating agency/facility to review equipment that has been deployed that was purchased with Hospital Preparedness funds. Because these visits are a requirement of our grant, the regions are audited annually for compliance with this obligation. Region 2 South first conducted the visits for our hospital partners in 2011. For 2012, Region 2 South will be conducting these site visits with our pre-hospital partners over the upcoming months. The site visits will be conducted by Daniel Spangler, the Region 2 South Equipment Coordinator. The purpose of the visits is to ensure that the equipment is accounted for and is being properly housed and maintained. The visits should be brief and thus will not take a lot of time. To help facilitate this initiative for our pre-hospital agencies, I am requesting that the MCAs forward this to their agencies (both public and private) on behalf of Region 2 South. Agencies are requested to email Dan directly at dspangler@2south.org with the following information: Name of department or agency Point of contact for the visit, including phone and email information Dan then will be able to coordinate a date and time for the visit directly with the individual identified. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you very much for your cooperation with these required initiatives.
